Description

Sold stc by James Taylor – The Agency UK Teignbridge… A 2 bedroom semi-detached home presented in good order throughout with off-road parking and enclosed garden. Ideal for first time buyers, downsizers or ‘buy to let’ investors.

Situation

Heywood Drive is a quiet residential area within the waterside village of Starcoss located on the banks of the Exe Estuary, and not far from the coastal blue Flag beaches and nature reserve at Dawlish Warren.

The historic Powderham Castle is just to the north of the village with its parklike grounds and gardens, where many events and concert are held throughout the year. There is also a farm shop and café, and the castle remains the seat of The Earl of Devon to this day.

Starcross is home to reputedly the oldest sailing club in the country and is also a mecca for train enthusiasts. The remains of one of Brunel’s atmospheric railway pumping stations is here, and the modern railway, following Brunel’s route, sweeps along the estuary a few feet from the water. Heritage trains often run through the village.

A scenic and flat cycle path takes you all the way to Exeter’s historic quayside along the old ship canal past the Turf Locks and Double Locks pubs. Haldon Forest Park is also close buy with miles of walking and cycling trails.

Amenities include a convenience store, pubs and primary school as well as a golf course and bowling club. Starcross recreation ground is very close to the property.

Transport links are excellent as the village is on the main A379 coastal road taking you all the way to Exeter and the M5 to the North, as well as Dawlish and Teignmouth to the south. There are regular trains to Exeter on the Penzance to Paddington mainline, as well as a regular bus service. Exeter Airport is easily reached by car with national and international flights.

Description

Presented in good order throughout this two bedroom semi-detached home is available to the market with no onward chain, and would ideally suit a first time buyer, downsizer, or ‘buy to let’ investor. Accommodation is laid out over two levels with the entrance hall, kitchen and living room to the ground floor, and two bedrooms and bathroom to the first floor. Out side there is a front and enclosed rear garden, as well as an off-road parking area for two cars. Or currently one car and the existing shed. The property is double glazed throughout.

Accommodation

The front door opens to the entrance hall where there is space for storing coats and shoes. A door opens to the tank cupboard. New carpets have just been laid throughout, and rooms redecorated in a neutral colour scheme.

The living room is of a good size with a sliding patio style door that opens to the back garden. The stairs have been enclosed giving a more practical and easy to furnish space, and also providing a useful under-stair storage area with a sliding door to access.

The kitchen is off the living room with a window giving views to the front aspect. A range of storage units run across the long wall with grey doors below the wood effect work surfaces with inset stainless steel sink and drainer, and tiled splashbacks. There is space and provision for an undercounter washing a machine and space for an electric freestanding cooker.

Stairs from the living room lead up to the landing with a side window, doors lead off to the bedrooms and bathroom. The larger room is to the rear with a hanging space in the corner over the stairs, and a window overlooking the garden to the rear. The second bedroom has a view to the front of the property. The bathroom is part tiled with an electric shower over the bath, hand wash basin and WC, plus a heated towel rail.

Outside

To the front of the property is an area of level garden laid to lawn with a gravel border adjacent to the house. The rear garden is enclosed by walling and a recently renewed wooden panel fence, with a pedestrian gate to the shared driveway. The garden is level and laid to lawn with paving immediately of the rear of the house, as well as adjacent to the garden gate. At the end of the garden is a planter planted with flowers and two bushes/small trees. Off the shared driveway is a parking area that is included in the freehold title with a storage shed and space for one car. If the shed was removed you could park two cars here. There is further parking available on the road.
