We’ve loved living in this house for 11 years, and we can honestly say it’s been a brilliant place to raise our daughter. The neighbourhood is exceptionally safe, quiet and has a great community spirit – our neighbours are lovely!
The location couldn’t be more convenient.
By car, it’s under an hour to London, or fantastic beaches like Camber Sands or Broadstairs, and we’re less than ten minutes from Leeds Castle, which has become our daughter’s go-to playground! We can walk or cycle to Mote Park along the river Len, or to the Bearsted Woodland Trust. Mallards Park, with its scenic lake, is accessible via the shortcut opposite the house (very short walk!).
Maidstone town centre, with its wide variety of shops and cafes is a short drive away, as are Tesco & Morrison supermarkets. Bluewater and Ashford Outlet are easily accessible.
Locally, there are great takeaways, newsagents, chemists, post office, and GP surgery, all in walking distance.
Nature lovers will also appreciate the diverse local wildlife, with hedgehogs, foxes, a rare white squirrel, goldfinches, herons, cormorants, birds of prey and even kingfishers.
Although we’re ready to move on to a bigger property, we love Downswood so much, and plan to stay local.
