** UNEXPECTEDLY RE-AVAILABLE** The perfect “Forever home” located on a premier road in Sanderstead. 5 bedrooms, detached 1920’s built house offered for sale for only the second time in 75 years. A true gem.
Welcomed to the market for only the second time in 75 years is this prepossessing 5 bedroom detached house set on one of Sanderstead’s most favoured treelined roads.
The perfect “Forever home” springs to mind when pulling into the driveway of this grand, eye catching 1920’s property and, when you step inside, it does not disappoint. You are welcomed by a large double width hall which gives off a feeling of both warmth and homely. To the left is what you would describe as the “Heart” of the house, a 30ft kitchen/living and entertainment room. Extended by the current owners in 2009 to include double bi-folding doors, a brand new kitchen and sperate utility room, this area is simply jaw-dropping. The space allows you to have a sectioned off living area, a dining room, and a stylish fitted kitchen with large centre island. Whether throwing a high spirited cocktail party or being appointed the house of choice for hosting Christmas, this room is the ideal spot and can hold plenty of guests. We have it on good authority that it’s been the subject to plenty of previous celebrations. The utility room is handy to keep all of the washing and ironing out of view and also provides internal access to the garage with double doors leading out to the garden.
Pull back the Bi-folds and you enter into a 150ft South Easternly paradise. The garden has recently benefited from having brand new patio laid which provides a great space to entertain outdoors and for those summertime family BBQ’s. Equally, the garden is perfect if you have children who like to spend time outside and the current owners have even installed a “DIY” treehouse.
To the right is a 35ft formal reception room which has the potential and space to be converted into multiple rooms, or as it currently is, can double up as an impressive games area, home office and movie room. The downstairs also features a cloakroom.
Climb the stairs to the upper level and you hit by an abundance of natural light that oozes through the double skylight and passes through the glass panel of the gallery landing, another really impressive and forward thinking feature added by the current owners. The upper floor comprises of 5 double bedrooms and two bathrooms. The presidential suite is fitted with ample wardrobe space and of course has its very own en-suit bathroom with his and hers sinks, a free standing oval tub and jack and jill walk-in wet room. There are 4 additional bedrooms and a further family bathroom which is tiled from floor to ceiling, has a corner tub, and entrance to walk-in wet room.
Since moving into the property in 2008, the owners have carried out some major works to include a side and rear extension, re plumbed throughout with brand new boiler, new radiators, CH linked underfloor heating to kitchen area and mega flow system installed. A complete rewire with upgraded fuse boards and trip boxes. New windows and doors, Newly fitted kitchen, bathrooms and wet room as well as some further works which we can disclose upon enquiry.
We asked the vendor,
What have you enjoyed most about living in your home?
“It’s just a lovely house to live in. It’s bright airy and sociable. It never feels cramped even when it’s packed with people. Great for parties, kids and adults alike!
The inside/outside feel – very connected to the outside. Lots of greenery all around”.
What will you miss the most?
“Its very private, front and back. The big drive – set back from the road. You are never aware of neighbours and you feel like you can make as much noise as you want without disturbing anyone. My bathroom – a sanctuary of relaxation sadly, the big utility room and deep sink for washing muddy boots and lastly, the quirky room shapes upstairs that make it feel cosy. In summary, i am going to be very sad to leave”.
