After marketing my late parents home, a detached stone cottage, grade 2 listed in a conservation area requiring some updating, for more than 6 months with a high street estate agency with little feedback and despite numerous viewings but no forthcoming offers, we were feeling stressed and disheartened. We knew it needed the right purchaser to walk through the door and see past the work that was needed to make it into a lovely family home again but it didn’t seem to be happening.

It was at this point we contacted Iain Welters from The Agency and it was the best decision we could have made. Although his fees were slightly higher than high street agents he assured us he would work hard to secure a sale making the additional cost well worth it. He was true to his word nothing was too much trouble for him and immediately we were getting the correct prospective buyers through the door. Constructive feedback was given after each viewing and several interested parties made offers subject to sale of their own property, one of which went through to completion.

To sum up Iain Welters is possibly slightly more expensive than other agents but as the saying goes ‘you only get what you pay for’ He showed a genuine passion for selling our more unique property. He looked into planning regulations for a grade 2 listed property in the area in preparation for questions asked during viewings and marketed not only the property but the local area to prospective purchasers moving into the county. In fact he went over and above his remit to support us and ensure the correct sale as he knew that, after being in the family for in excess of 120 years, it had been a very special home and we needed to hand it over to people that would love and appreciate it which is exactly what he achieved.
