Why Glasgow?
The West End offers some beautiful Victorian homes with chic pillared entrances situated in the energetic, vibrant hub of the city. Encompassing quite a large geographical quarter, and within it, the areas of Dowanhill, Kelvingrove, Hyndland and Hillhead are particularly popular. Great locations for both families and young professionals owing to to their central locations yet surrounded by green open spaces such as the Glasgow Botanic Gardens and Kelvingrove Park.
The Park area has recently seen many of its imposing Victorian properties converted from commercial premises back into residential homes, and there are some attractive opportunities here for homeowners. Clarence Drive, Byres Road and Hyndland Road provide an eclectic array of restaurants, wine bars and shops and give the area an attractive bohemian atmosphere. Hillhead Primary School and Kelvinside Academy are two excellent schools located in Glasgow’s West End.
To the north of Glasgow, some exceptionally desirable locations offer stunning properties that can be reached quickly by train or car, although not in the most central locations. Bearsden, just on the fringe of Greater Glasgow, is a particular favourite, with addresses like Grange Road and Boclair Road being a popular choice with families due to the beautiful detached houses available.
Bearsden
Always in high demand are homes in Bearsden. This is due to the area’s quality of life with green open spaces at Kilmardinny Loch Nature Reserve and Mugdock Country Park close by.
South of the city centre, you can find other prestigious locations such as Thorntonhall, Whitecraigs and Giffnock. However, Baroness Drive and Baron Court are the most highly sought-after addresses. The architecture of these houses vary but are generally considered the most attractive in Glasgow.
The area of Shawlands has recently become an appealing choice for young families seeking larger homes but who wish to live slightly further from the city centre.
David sees his career in Estate Agency as a vocation.
When he is not selling houses, you will find David watching Formula 1 or out for a nice meal with Donna and his stepson Nathan.
